An exciting new restaurant and bar dedicated to pleasures of the palate, NECTAR is tapped to open its doors in late August at Bellagio. Chef John Schenk, formerly of New York's Monkey Bar and Clementine, has created this gathering place where guests can indulge in the comfort of an American-inspired menu in a fun and lively environment.

With its electrifying blue and jewel-toned interiors designed by Chicago's renowned Jordan Mozer, NECTAR provides a clever diversion from the ordinary. "Our goal is to offer guests an atmosphere as dynamic and vibrant as the meal," said Bryan O'Shields, Vice President of Food and Beverage.

Chef Schenk matches the wild surroundings with an imaginative menu that showcases his contemporary American cuisine. Fried Green Tomato and BBQ'd Spare Rib Salad, Chili Rubbed "Free Range" Pork Chop and Buffalo Mahi Mahi are merely a few of the restaurant's offerings.

"The idea behind the food is to create balance between comfort and intrigue," said Chef Schenk. "The menu reflects the many influences that make up America's dining melting pot."

At NECTAR's entry is a vivacious lounge and raw bar serving giant gulf shrimp, dozens of varieties of oysters, clams, Dungeness crab, split lobsters and other iced shellfish. Here, the casual dining experience is complemented by an extensive array of specialty cocktails, refreshing microbrews and wines by the glass.

NECTAR promises to be a welcome addition to the many distinguished restaurants at Bellagio including the Mobil Five-Star Picasso, Le Cirque, Prime Steakhouse, Olives and Aqua. Located at the crossroads of Via Bellagio (the resort's shopping promenade) and the North Valet entrance, NECTAR's easy accessibility makes it the ideal location for pre- and post- theatre dining. NECTAR is open for dinner service nightly from 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Raw Bar dining is available beginning at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For reservations please call (702) 693-7223.

Inspired by the beautiful villages of Europe, Bellagio overlooks a Mediterranean-blue eight-acre lake in which fountains perform a magnificent aquatic ballet choreographed to music and lights. Within Bellagio are award-winning dining experiences, a world-class art gallery, exquisite gardens, Cirque du Soleil's stunning performance of "O," luxurious spa services and an elegant casino. Via Bellagio features upscale shops including Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Fred Leighton, Hermes, Moschino, Yves Saint Laurent. Bellagio is a wholly owned subsidiary of MGM MIRAGE.
