Bellagio was named the fourth best hotel in the world by the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine in the publication's August issue featuring the 2001 World's Best Awards.

Bellagio was surpassed only by the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, the Ritz-Carlton Chicago and the Ritz-Carlton Naples.

Bellagio also was named the third best hotel in the Continental United States and Canada surpassed only by the Ritz-Carlton Chicago and the Ritz-Carlton Naples.

"It is a watershed moment in the hospitality industry for a resort with the scope and complexity of Bellagio to be recognized as having the same attributes of intimacy and service as hotels that are far smaller," said Randy Morton, Vice President of Hotel Operations.

Both rankings represent tremendous moves for Bellagio from the 2000 World's Best Awards. Last year Bellagio was ranked as the 66th hotel worldwide and the 22nd hotel in the Continental United States and Canada.

"Travel + Leisure's readers travel extensively and are known to enjoy their leisure-time activities. It is an unbelievable honor for such a group to recognize Bellagio as among the world's best; an honor that has everything to do with the commitment our employees make to each and every guest that walks through our doors," said Mr. Morton.

Inspired by the beautiful villages of Europe, Bellagio overlooks a Mediterranean-blue eight-acre lake in which fountains perform a magnificent aquatic ballet choreographed to music and lights. Within Bellagio are award-winning dining experiences including Picasso, a Mobil Five-Star restaurant, a world-class art gallery currently featuring The Private Collection of Steve Martin, exquisite gardens, Cirque du Soleil's stunning performance of "O," luxurious spa services and an elegant casino. The resort's shopping promenade, Via Bellagio, features upscale shops including Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Prada, Fred Leighton, Hermes, Moschino and Yves Saint Laurent. Bellagio is a wholly owned subsidiary of MGM MIRAGE. For more information visit the resort's website, http://www.bellagio.com/ and for reservations call Bellagio toll free at (877) 987-7775.
