Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, a wholly owned subsidiary of MGM MIRAGE (NYSE: MGM), announced the appointment of George P. Corchis, Jr. as the resort's new president. He is responsible for all operations of the 1,740-room property.
Corchis' appointment as president marks his return to MGM MIRAGE where he previously served in a financial capacity with the Mirage Resort & Casino in the early 1990s.

"His experience in the region provides invaluable insight, and his background and expertise will be instrumental in guiding Beau Rivage through reconstruction and the reopening of the property after the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. Most recently, Corchis served in a dual role for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. as senior vice president and general manager of the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel and the Sheraton Casino & Hotel, both in Tunica, Miss. Prior to that, Corchis spent 11 years working for Jack Binion, and is the only executive to serve in key leadership positions at each of the three Horseshoe properties outside Nevada.
