MGM MIRAGE Chairman and CEO Terry Lanni today received the Global Diversity and Innovation Award during the 2007 World Diversity Leadership Summit at the United Nations in New York City. The World Diversity Leadership Summit selected Lanni because of his leadership and MGM MIRAGE's innovative diversity efforts.

Lanni accepted the award on behalf of the 70,000 employees of MGM MIRAGE. "I am privileged to have a leading role among a cast of literally thousands in integrating diversity across our enterprise," he said. "As our initiative has unfolded, we have seen the commitment to diversity grow stronger and deeper. We are inspired and our resolve is renewed with every employee, supplier and community that takes a leap as a result of an opportunity we create."

Recently, the company published the progress of its Diversity Initiative in its Annual Diversity Report, reporting performance in key areas such as human resources, strategic sourcing, construction and corporate philanthropy. Since 2000, MGM MIRAGE has reported on its diversity evolution to demonstrate transparency and accountability.

Launched in 2004, the World Diversity Leadership Summit is a gathering of corporate, executives focused on the challenges and opportunities related to global diversity management.

The Global Diversity and Innovation Award is one of several accolades MGM MIRAGE has received for their diversity initiatives. Earlier this year, MGM MIRAGE was named to DiversityInc magazine's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" list and selected as one of "America's Most Admired Companies" by Fortune magazine.
