MGM Resorts Senior Vice President of Human Resources Michelle DiTondo Honored with National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Award

November 13, 2013
Recognized for Corporate Achievement and Service through Leadership in Diversity

San Francisco, CA, Nov. 13, 2013 — Michelle DiTondo, MGM Resorts International’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources, has been selected by Asian Pacific American Advocates as one of the top 10 most impactful leaders in the Asian American community. Asian Pacific American Advocates is a national membership-driven organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs).

DiTondo was honored in San Francisco at a recent ceremony with the 2013 National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Award. The annual event honors APA employees within corporations for their contributions made to business and the community.

"OCA and its Business Advisory Council are proud to recognize these ten extraordinary corporate citizens and community members who have embraced our mission by being leaders in their communities and by being committed to diversity in the workplace,” said OCA National President Sharon M. Wong.

All award recipients were nominated by their respective employers and then selected by a panel of judges.

In determining the winners, judges considered several dimensions, including: commitment to diversity in the community, commitment to unity among Asian Americans, support of one’s own ethnic community and leadership qualities.

“It is humbling to be recognized for the values that were instilled in me by my parents,” DiTondo said. “Embracing diversity and community is a foundational cornerstone at MGM Resorts and I am grateful to be part of an organization that empowers me to extend these practices to our employees, guests and daily operations.”

The National Asian Pacific American Corporate Achievement Awards is the first national program of its kind. It recognizes corporate achievement and service by honoring the dedication and leadership of APA corporate employees. Since its establishment in 1991 by the OCA Business Advisory Council (BAC), 207 community-conscious corporate leaders have been inducted.

"The BAC is pleased to present these 10 exemplary individuals for their outstanding service to both their respective organizations and the community,” said David Lin, BAC Chair. "For their demonstrated leadership and commitment to the APA community, the BAC is privileged to recognize this year’s Corporate Achievement Award honorees.”
