MGM Resorts International Executive Named Among Most Influential

Meetings industry publication ranks Michael Dominguez in its Top 25


LAS VEGAS – July 14, 2015 – Successful Meetings, a trade publication for meeting, convention, incentive and trade show professionals, has named MGM Resorts International’s (NYSE: MGM) Michael Dominguez to its list of the 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry for 2015.

The annual listing recognizes events and meetings professionals who have “helped raise awareness of the industry, or in some way made a significant impact on the industry.”

As Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer for MGM Resorts International, Mr. Dominguez provides executive oversight for company sales strategies for the convention, leisure, and transient segments. This also includes industry relations, regional sales and MGM Resorts Event Productions. Mr. Dominguez guides 300 employees within the Company, which hosts some 6,000 groups annually.

“No one explains the hotel business side of the hospitality world to planners better than Dominguez,” according to Successful Meetings. In his role at MGM Resorts, “he has been an innovator in dealing with the Wi-Fi accessibility issue, and a leader in bringing wellness concepts into hotel rooms, all while leading his team to a record year of sales for group rooms in 2014.”

Mr. Dominguez is active in leadership roles within the meetings industry, which is of significant importance to the Company and to the Las Vegas economy. He serves as Immediate Past Chairman of Meeting Professionals International, the largest global meetings organization. He also has served on the Executive Committee of the U.S. Travel Association and on the Foundation Board of Directors for The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI).

He recently was named co-chair of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition, leading the coalition’s efforts to showcase the value that business meetings, travel and events bring to the U.S. economy.
